A great overview of Cadiz

This was an excellent way to get an overview of Cadiz with a comfortable, modern bus providing an excellent narrative on the journey around the key parts of the city. As a previous reviewer has stated, the cruise port is located very close to parts of the city but it gave my husband and I such a comprehensive and interesting view of our port of call, that we are keen to return and experience it for a longer stay.

With the hop on hop off we also booked the walking tour which was superb. Our 12.30 guide was knowledgeable and spoke God English and was very friendly.
Some of the comms on the bus ae in need of repair. Otherwise highly recommended, do take the walking tour as well.

a good service but didn't really need it

We took this tour and it was fine - but we found that it really wasn't necessary. The cruise port is right across the street from the town, and it's all easily walkable. We loved the old town with it's medieval street network leading to squares, incredible tapas places, open air markets, musicians, etc. The public beach is beautiful and only a few minutes' walk from the cruise pier. The waterfront areas are either historic sites (fortresses), or beach, or beautiful gardens, all open to the public.

This is a great tour to get a great overview of Cadiz. The driver was more than willing to help, made sure we had headphones and how to use them. The map is easy to follow and corresponded easily with the audio.
We used this tour as a way to get to know the area, then hopped on and off several times to visit shops, beach bars and restaurants. Super cool being on the top and enjoy the sun too!

Cadiz is one of the best cities we’ve seen!

The HOHO bus in Cadiz was perfect! Stop #1 was where our ship was docked, and also the entrance to the plaza. The plaza is one of the best we’ve visited, lots of tables outside restaurants at very reasonable prices.
There’s 16 stops on the circuit, the last one being a large mall. Really interesting concept for a mall, you can buy anything from cosmetics to washing machines.
The €25 ticket also includes a walking tour of the ancient city. Some of the oldest Roman ruins found anywhere.
We always do the HOHO on a cruise it’s the best way to see a city in a day. Some ports in the world are only worth a day.

When on a cruise, we always use the hop on hop off bus, as a way of getting a glimpse of the city.. As we have been here before, we just used it to hop on and off at various places, The Cathedral, The park, the Beach area.. The buses were quite regular in their running. We booked it along with a ticket for the Cathedral, the morning when our cruise boat docked. The buses can be busy when cruise boats are in.

Five middle-aged friends took the tour after arriving at the cruise terminal on the Iona, and quite enjoyed it as it was quite a good way to see the city from an elevated viewpoint. The bus departed from right outside the cruise terminal, so very easy to find. The ticket also included entrance to the cathedral including the tower, so not bad value at all. One point however was that we took the same company’s buses next day in Lisbon and we found out when we paid in Lisbon, that if we had kept our tickets from Cadiz we would have gotten money off in Lisbon – a point the staff in Cadiz omitted to tell us.
Poor service

OK on day one but the bus people could have dried the wet seats and given the top deck canopy a good shaking - the run-off drenched people when the bus started off. On day two we successfully journeyed outward but, after waiting 45 minutes for a return trip we gave up and walked back to the ship . We did not see a single bus travelling in either direction and there were no bus sales personnel at the terminal when we got back at 14:00
Expensive Taxi

Cruised into Cadiz on the Iona. Jumped on board, paid £50 for two of us and jumped off again near the cathedral. Most expensive taxi on the planet. Just a short walk to the Cathedral from the ship so do your research if you are on a cruise. We did jump back on to complete the tour but the headphones were not working and we would have done better to go back to the ship instead
