Wonderful, in-depth, and with special access!

Wow! This tour is perfect for those who want to learn about Spain's rich Jewish (Sephardic) history in a place where the three cultures really come alive. Full disclosure: I work in Spain's travel industry, but I booked this tour for my visiting aunt and me to discover Córdoba on a whole new level. We were not disappointed and walked away feeling like we had a truly culturally enriching experience. Jorge is so knowledgeable. We listened to his stories and gained access to parts of the Judería that are not open to the general public. I have been to Córdoba multiple times, but this tour really shined a new light on one of my favorite cities in Spain and gave me such a new perspective. A must for anyone interested in Spain's Jewish history!
Brought Jewish history in Spain to life

My wife and I have been on several Jewish tours throughout the world and Jorge Gershon's tour was certainly one of the best. Jorge not only showed us the sites associated with Jewish life in Spain (pre-expulsion) but more importantly, his passion for the subject and his love of Judaism gave us a greater appreciation of this complex and fascinating chapter in Jewish and Spanish history. We particularly enjoyed the opportunity to visit the Casa de Sefarad (Jewish heritage museum) and spend some time talking with Jorge and the Museum's Director/Owner (Sebastian) about the time in which Jews, Christians and Moslems lived together and worked in relative harmony during the Middle Ages.

We highly recommend Jorge to anyone interested in learning about Sephardic Judeo-Spanish life, culture and history.

Jorge is one of the best guides we have met , anywhere in the world. With respect to Cordoba and Southern Spain history he taught us so so much and we loved every minute!! He is very very knowledgeable and "teaches" in an easy understandable way, speaking perfect English. We highly recommend this tour and Jorge!

Great tour with Jorge who spoke excellent English. As there are no Jews living in Cordoba, Jorge came from Seville to lead us through the quarter. Make sure you book when the synagogue is open. While small it is amazing. We had toured the Mosque the day before and learned the same craftsman who worked at the Mosque also did the synagogue. The highlight was to visit the Jewish museum and have a sit-down chat with the person who started the museum. The museum itself was once were 8 families lived, mostly 1 small room per family. It has a central courtyard and community kitchen. The other rooms house artifacts, an art exhibit of influential Jewish women and history through the centuries. Small but packed with lots of interesting information. This tour may be the only way to visit the museum as the number of visitors after COVID restrictions lifted has been low.
Powerful, personal tour of the Jewish Quarter.

We had limited time and the synagogue was closed for New Year's, but nevertheless, we had a really excellent tour of the Jewish Quarter with Jorge Gershon. He's a truly lovely guy, quite knowledgeable, enthusiastic and engaging, and has an interesting background himself (to those like me living with a limited Ashkenazic perspective). We learned a lot and it was so helpful to get a Jewish perspective on the events of this region, and Cordoba in particular, from a Jewish person. It was great learning more about Rambam (Maimonides), who was born and lived in Cordoba, and we got the pleasure of hearing live singing of a wide range of Sephardic melodies, captured in just three songs, at the Jewish Museum. You might think you don't need a guide in a museum, but really Jorge targeted particular spaces and elements to share stories, explanations, and made it feel personal and really meaningful -- he brought it all to life and helped it feel so tangible it was like it was recent. We highly recommend including in a trip to Cordoba a learning experience with Jorge.
