Overview

One of the most important cities of the Roman empire in Spain and a major Islamic center in the Middle Age, Cordoba became very famous for having its urban area declared by Unesco in 1994 as the biggest patrimony of mankind. It is best known for La Mezquita, an immense mosque dating from 784 A.D. where there is a massive praying hall with Byzantine mosaic art, nowadays also transformed into the Cathedral. The catholic influence is therefore interwoven with the Islamic culture and the ancient Jewish neighborhood. We are going to take the Caliphate Route, visiting the coolest towns between the destinations and admiring the huge olive terraces. Because happiness is all along the way.
