What To Expect

The “mushroom of the incarnation” is a large, ultra-modern structure in Seville's Plaza de la Encarnacion, and is the largest wooden structure in the world. You can go up to the lookout point or "mirador" to see the structure and the city. The observation deck is accessed from the ground floor next to the Antiquarium.

Casa de Pilatos
You walk through a Renaissance-style marble door into a courtyard with a central fountain surrounded by busts of former Spanish rulers and Roman emperors. One notable feature is the Mudejar honeycomb ceiling in the upper room. Here, you can also see valuable paintings from the 16th to 19th centuries, including Sebastiano del Piombo's Pieta.

Barrio Santa Cruz
You can enjoy meandering through a maze of narrow alleys and plazas, where buildings on either side shield the streets from the sun. The neighborhood is lively day and night with many bars, tapas bars and open-air cafés. One interesting street in Santa Cruz is the Callejon del Agua (water alley), which runs parallel to the old city walls.
